Time Required for Hair Extensions

Hair extensions involve time and time can mean more money.  There is time to attach the hair extensions, time you need to maintain them properly and time to remove them.  If you don't spend time on your hair now and don't want to, then hair extensions my not be a suitable option for you.

.  How long does it take to get hair extensions?

It can take anywhere from 1 hour to 8 hours to attach hair extensions.  It depends on the method that is being used, the experience of the hair stylist attaching them, and how many extensions you are having attached. Some stylist recommend you bring a good book or magazine to keep you occupied during the application procedure.

2.  How long does it take to remove the hair extensions?

Some methods can be removed faster than it takes to put them in.  Other methods require a tedious removal process.  Removal of the extensions is the most critical part of the hair extension process.  Improper removal will result in damage to your natural hair.

3.  How long does it take to style hair extensions?

Styling your hair on a day-to-day basis will take longer while wearing hair extensions.  You must take extra care that the hair is brushed and styled properly to avoid tangling and mattes.

4.  How long can you wear hair extensions?

Many hair stylist recommend wearing hair extensions for no more than 2-3 months.  The reason being that we normally lose anywhere from 50-150 hairs everyday.  Without wearing hair extensions, these hairs just fall to the ground or come out in our hair brushes.  But, if you are wearing hair extensions, these hairs cannot fall out because the are attached to the hair extension.  So, these fallen hairs will accumulate, leaving the extension hair with less and less hair holding it in place.  This can result in the extension hair falling out and pulling the extension hair with it, or even causing severe tangling and mattes because of all the loose hairs around the root area.
